Lea Drinda is an award-winning actor.
Lea will next star as the legendary photographer ‘Astrid Kirchherr’ in the upcoming six-part series HAMBURG DAYS for BBC, in the leading role of ‘Bea Hoffmann’ in the upcoming dystopian horror series CITY OF BLOOD for Disney+, and will reprise her role as ‘Wanda’ in the second series of Apple TV’s dark-comedy series WHERE’S WANDA?.
In 2025, Lea stars as ‘Erika’ in Mascha Schilinski’s acclaimed feature film SOUND OF FALLING. The film had it’s world premiere In Competition at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize.
Lea’s break-out performance was the role of ‘Babsi’ in Amazon’s limited series WE THE CHILDREN FROM BAHNHOF ZOO, for which she was nominated for ‘Best Young Actor’ at the 2021 German Screen Actors Awards. She went on to receive widespread acclaim for her performance as the lead ‘Charlie’ in the limited series BECOMING CHARLIE (ZDFneo). She was awarded the New Faces Award for Germany and ‘Best Leading Actress’ at both Hessian Television Awards and DAFFNEE Awards 2022, alongside nominations at German Television Awards and the prestigious Grimme Prize for ‘Outstanding Acting Performance’ in 2023.
Further major credits include starring in Amazon’s fantasy series THE GRYPHON (2023), the environmental thriller series WHO WE ARE for ARD (2023), ARD’s series BOOM (2024), and six-part thriller series NIGHT IN PARADISE (2024) for Canal+.
Lea is fluent in four languages: English, French, German and Spanish.
