Michael Robert Johnson

Michael Robert Johnson is a British screenwriter.

He is the writer, showrunner and executive producer of the upcoming KING AND CONQUEROR, an 8 x 1 hour scripted drama for BBC and CBS. The show is an historical epic dramatising the life of the warlord William, Duke of Normandy and his conquest of the British Isles. The show stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and James Norton. It is directed by Baltasar Kormakur. As well as serving as showrunner, Mike has written five of the eight episodes.

Mike wrote the critical and commercial hit SHERLOCK HOLMES (Warner Bros, 2009), directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law.

Further credits include the action feature POMPEII (Sony Pictures, 2014) directed by Paul W Anderson and starring Kit Harington, the thriller LATE SHIFT (Golden Village Pictures, 2016), described as "the world's finest cinematic interactive movie", and the second series of THE FRANKENSTEIN CHRONICLES (Rainmark/BBC, 2018) starring Sean Bean and Vanessa Kirby.  Mike has been a longtime collaborator with Duncan Jones, and together they wrote 2018’s MUTE for Netflix (Liberty Films).
